Red Ochre: The Last Guards of the Holy Fire
Tim Drabandt & Fanon Kabwe
Since the 16th century, nomads populate the region around Kunene in northwest Namibia. Up to today, many Himba try to keep their traditional way of life in spite of climate change, governmental development projects and the pursuit of Westernisation by younger generations putting their culture in danger. At the Holy Fire, the tribal elder Chief Hivazako Hembinda tells of the wealth of a culture that will soon disappear.
